Oversized Birthday M&M Krispie Pops

untitled-25 I am just going to say this, “Your kids are going to love these.”

Next week, No Fuss Fabulous is celebrating children with a week filled with Kid’s Birthday Party ideas! To give you a sneek peak, I made one of my childrens’ favorite birthday treats – Oversized Birthday Rice Krispie Pops. These will turn a child eyes in to saucers in no time flat.
untitled-26-copy To make these adorable pops, simply triple the Rice Krispie square recipe and then add a bag of M&Ms at the end. Place the mixture into a deep 9″ x 13″ baking dish and let set.
No Fuss Fabulous tip: If you don’t have a deep pan, use several bread loaf pans instead.
untitled-24 Cut rice krispie treats into large squares. Place large popsicle sticks into each rice krispie square.
untitled-27 I add a little bow – more for me than the kids! Enjoy!

Stay tuned for more children Birthday themes and ideas next week!

  • too cute! I’d like to do all green m&ms for St Patricks Day!
I tried to do rice krispie treats on a stick awhile back and waited to put the stick in after they set and I couldn’t get it in! LOLOL

  • These are great…and eh-hem…not just for kids. There are a lot of grown-ups that would just love these yummy morsels; and grown-ups would appreciate the bow!!!

These are pretty! Is there a trick to cutting them so perfectly?

  • loralee says:

    Jennim,

Good question. I always take the Rice Krispies out of the pan and place them on a cutting board before cutting them.
I then cut off the corners and sides of the Rice Krispies because they usually are not as crisp as I want them to be (and I like to snitch a little treat anyway). I also use a large butcher knife. I know that sounds kind of extreme in comparison to the good old butter knife, but I find that if I use a large sharp knife with a little bit of Pam on each side it sinks easily into the Rice Krispies and makes them much easier to cut. This is especially important with these Rice Krispie bars because they are so thick. Another pointer would be to follow the Rice Krispie recipe closely. If you use too many marshmallows, your mixture is going to be too gooey to cut well.

I hope this helps! But the great thing is, they taste awesome whether cut perfectly or not! :)

    Thanks for your comment,
    Loralee

So I really want to make these, can someone clear up when or how to cut them and when to put the stick?? Ive made the treats before but never into shapes or on a stick. THANKS

  • loralee says:

    Andrea,

Thanks for the questions. Jenimm had a similar question. First of all, I cut my Rice Krispies after they have cooled for about one hour in the refrigerator. See below for the answer I gave Jenimm about how to cut them nicely. You will place the stick into the bottom of your treat as soon as you have finished cutting them into squares. You could probably wait and do them a little afterwards, but you don’t want to wait too long because your treats will become hard and it will be more difficult to place the stick into the treat. Does that make sense? I hope so!

Thank you so much for your question and please let me know if you need anything else to be cleared up! Thanks again!

Here are the tips I gave Jenimm about cutting a perfect treat:

    Jennim,

Good question. I always take the Rice Krispies out of the pan and place them on a cutting board before cutting them.
I then cut off the corners and sides of the Rice Krispies because they usually are not as crisp as I want them to be (and I like to snitch a little treat anyway). Love this idea, we are going to make these for our lemonade stand at our yard sale this weekend!

  • loralee says:

    Sephra,

I am so glad! I wanted to give you a heads up. One of our readers said that she had difficulty making these, because she added the M&Ms while the rice krispie mixture was still hot. Be sure that the rice krispie mixture is cool when you add the M&Ms to prevent melt-age! :) Thanks for the post! Hope you have a fabulous yard sale this weekend!

    Love,
    Loralee
