nfffrontofnecklaceOkay, okay, okay… this little craft is not completely Fuss-free, but it is 100% Fabulous. AND to be honest, sometimes I have to break the rules just to feel cool. Annie made these adorable scrabble tile pendants for me and all my sisters one Christmas while in dental school. I think they are adorable for everyone, but I especially think they are perfect for teens and tweens. So if you have a little extra time and you want a project to get your teenager talking this is it. They are low cost to make (hence, Annie making them in dental school. Trust me, I expect a lot more from her come December now post-graduate degree) and you can easily personalize the pendants for each girl! It’s a perfect activity for youth church activities.

Here’s What You Need:
- Scrabble tiles
nffbackofnecklace- Precut Photo or decorative paper of your choice that is barely larger than the Scrabble tile (Thumbprint size images from the web are the perfect size!)
- 6-10mm jump rings
- Exacto knife
- Ribbon
- Drill & 1/16 bit
- Modge Podge
- small paint brush
- Needle
- Envirotex or Diamond Glaze

What You Do:
1.Drill a hole 4mm from the top edge of tile of your scrabble tile game piece.
2. Apply precut square image to the surface of the tile using Modge Podge and paint brush.
3. Firmly press image down to ensure no air pockets remain between the paper and tile.
4. Using your needle, poke a hole on top of your tile to puncture the paper.
5. Let adhesive dry.
6. Once dried, carefully trim the paper from all 4 sides of your scrabble tile with Exacto knife.
7. Apply Diamond Glaze or Envirotex to image for a shiny clear coating on top.
8. Once dried, insert jump ring into drilled hole on top of tile.
9. Add ribbon through the jump ring.
10. Place necklace on yourself. Take a look in the mirror and repeatedly tell yourself how fabulous you look.

No Fuss Fabulous Tips and Twists:
*Make several different pendants with a theme and create a bracelet. For example, if your daughter is into the Twilight books you could do a photo of Edward, Bella, and a chess piece on three different tiles.
*Use Scrabble letters that mean something to you. For example, the beginning letter for each of your children’s names.
*If you don’t have a Scrabble set or don’t want to use your existing pieces, check out your local Goodwill, Deseret Industries, or Salvation Army for used sets.
*For more ideas visit Etsy.com and search under ‘scrabble necklace’. There are many for sale and it will get your creative juices flowing. You may be tempted to buy one. Don’t worry. We won’t judge either way.
