Believe it or not, those hot summer days by the pool are slipping by!  So, get out there and create a few memories which would be worth the wrinkles you would get if you didn’t wear sunblock (but of course, you will!)  Don’t worry, you won’t be bereft of sunscreen, since you are that put-together woman who lathered her face and hands with SPF tinted face cream then dusted SPF 45 mineral powder! (Our picks from Sephora: Korres Watermelon Lightweight Tinted Moisturiser SPF 30 and Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral Powder SPF 45) and then you packed for you and the kids that ingenious spray form of sunblock (fav: Copperton ultraGUARD ). NFF Tip: remember to always cover your hands with sunblock while driving, since hands on the steering wheel will make those pesky age spots will show up sooner rather than later!

Get out there, get wet and dive into motherhood with the kids. We ran through the sprinklers today. Be fun and defy all that media crap about your thighs not being good enough! Get a few rays sans computer monitor.  Snap some digital photo shots (the pics can be of your kids not your thighs, but hey, if you are feeling it, go right ahead girlfriend!)  Best way to get great water shots with your kids? Go for the action! Don’t worry about them looking toward you and smiling. Get that crazy dive off the board midair with the sports setting of that little digital camera.  My Nikon even has a splashing water setting! Get the after shots with kids bundled in towels or sleeping in the car.  Get a secret shot of that preteen sporting her “Hannah Montana look”  laying out. Get the soggy bottom of your toddler’s swim diaper.  Then stash that camera in a dry spot and get out there to live! Splash, paddle and run through the sprinklers! My husband and I joke that the best way to improve my mood is “Just Add Water” whether it is a bath, ocean, sprinklers or pool!   I know you are looking forward to school starting, but embrace these last few days like you won’t have them again because you won’t.  The kids will be older, doing different things next year and well, it is the next year.  Soak up the summer!
