It doesn’t matter who you are, the first day back to school is always a toughie. As supermoms, you want to make the day as memorable and stress-free as possible. Making the day fun can be an up hill battle but as all moms know, little things can make a BIG difference. To help your little one get excited, try helping them adhere some of our friendly book plates to their new chapter books and texts. This cute owl will help them know whose book it is and this little mouse will brighten anyone’s day! Click here and save. Then print them off onto Avery Weatherproof Labels 5523. The weatherproof labels are the best for books which will receive lots of love from little hands!

They will have fun adding a mouse or owl bookplate to their school books.  Then, as a special surprise help them stick one onto a brand new back-to-school book you bought just for the occasion! What better way to promote a love of learning and reading than a book as a present!

Here are a few books we recommend to help with elementary age back-to-school jitters:
Splat the Cat by Rob Scotton – You are going to fall in love with this cat and his mouse.  LOVE THIS BOOK.

The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn – CAUTION: this is a tear jerker for moms.  It comes complete with little kissing hand stickers.  So cute.

How I Spent My Summer Vacation by Mark Teague – Perfect for the first day of school.

First Day Jitters by Julie Danneberg – Everyone loves this book.

Welcome to Kindergarten – Anne Rockwell – Great for the first day of Kindergarten.  Read it before you start crying.

Junie B,. First Grader (at last!) # 18 by Barbara Park – First graders love this book. It was a long awaited favorite in my friend’s homeroom.
